WRAP and Red BAMX

Environment

WRAP (The Waste and Resources Action Programme) and Red BAMX (Red de Bancos de Alimentos de México) are an example of the partnerships that the Posner Foundation fosters with its grantees, especially those working to end food waste. WRAP, a UK-based international NGO focused on circular living, and Red BAMX, an NGO whose main goal is to rescue surplus food to fight hunger and reduce food waste in Mexico, work closely together on Pacto Por La Comida, a voluntary agreement that seeks to get Mexican food companies to prevent food waste through data and technical assistance, as well as a national food waste prevention campaign aimed at consumers. Red BAMX’s approach to preventing food waste while supporting food insecure people has been a model for other food banks around the world.

The Posner Foundation has also supported the growing WRAP team in the Americas in building partnerships to change consumer environments and reduce food waste in the United States and Latin America.
